A man and a woman were being quizzed tonight after two separate seizures of cannabis with a street value of €320,000.
A 42-year-old South African woman was shadowed by gardai after she collected a drugs haul hidden in a case from Dublin Airport.
She was tracked to an address in County Meath, where she was arrested.
Officers from the Revenue’s Customs service identified the suspect luggage when it arrived on a flight without the passenger.
It is understood the woman had travelled on an earlier flight and that the bag - which concealed cannabis with a street value of 250,000 euro – was misplaced in transit.
A Customs spokesman said a similar operation carried out yesterday led to the seizure of 70,000 euro of cannabis resin.
A 30-year-old non-Irish national who got off a flight at Dublin Airport, where the consignment was spotted by authorities, was followed to a house in Ballincollig, Co Cork, and arrested.
He remains in custody at Guerranebraher garda station, Cork.
