The Minister for Justice has told the Dáil that he is to raise the issue of using the Army in the fight against gangland crime.

He was answering questions in the Dáil from Fine Gael's Charlie Flanagan arising from the latest killing in Limerick last night.

25-year old Gary Grant was gunned down in the St. Mary's Park area of the city in what's believed to be part of an ongoing feud.

Brian Lenihan said he will discuss the role of the Army in fighting crime but stressed that is not what they are trained for.
