Walcott could miss Barca clash

Arsenal forward Theo Walcott could miss the Champions League last-16 second leg against Barcelona because of an ankle injury.

The England player was carried off on a stretcher during the 1-0 over Stoke on Wednesday and is definitely out of the Carling Cup final against Birmingham at Wembley on Sunday.

But now Wenger fears Walcott could also miss the game in the Nou Camp on March 8, with him also sitting out the FA Cup replay with Leyton Orient six days earlier.

Wenger said: “Walcott will be out for two to three weeks with an ankle problem.

“I would say today it is very unlikely he will be fit for the second leg of the Barcelona game.

“I imagine the worst so maybe I will be surprised in a positive way but I just give you my gut feeling at the moment.”
