CAB orders man to hand over helicopter and Ferrari
A man's been ordered to hand over a helicopter and red Ferrari which the Criminal Assets Bureau claims were bought with the proceeds of crime.
Roger O'Grady (aged 29) with a number of addresses in counties Roscommon and Cavan been told to hand over the vehicles, and €26,000 in cash, to CAB by the end of this month if he is to avoid being jailed for contempt of court.
The High Court sitting in Cork today heard that O'Grady, who says he is a car dealer, was arrested while driving a Range Rover Vogue in Roscommon last Saturday - in relation to contempt order made by the High Court in July and August of this year.
The contempt relates to Mr O'Grady's failure to hand over a number of other vehicles including an Audi and a BMW under the proceeds of crime act.
These vehicles were sold by Mr O'Grady to "innocent" third parties.
Mr Justice Kevin Feeney said he would give the accused an opportunity to hand over the outstanding assets - including the Range Rover he was driving - by November 22.
He granted Mr O'Grady bail on a €100 surety to appear before the High Court again on November 26.
