The Drogheda United Supporters Club has moved to set up talks with club chairman Vincent Hoey in relation to the shock news that ticket prices for the coming season have been doubled.
The Co Louth club is to charge €25 and €20 into their stand and terraces in 2004, to offset a deficiency in their budget. Following a supporters’ meeting last night, representatives are set to discuss the matter with Hoey early next week.
A number of proposals were taken from supporters last night, and the DUSC have made it known that they hope to work with the club to resolve this situation as soon as possible.
United boss Paul Doolin has made five signings in the close season, and with pre-season training due to start tomorrow at a new training base of Mosney, he has also been linked with swoops for a Shamrock Rovers trio – goalkeeper Tony O’Dowd, midfielder Derek Tracey and winger Shane Robinson.
