A Garda behind allegations of corruption in the penalty points system has been invited to appear at the Public Accounts Committee next week.
The officer - referred to only by his surname, McCabe - has claimed that over 200 senior Gardaí abused their ability to quash penalty points.
However it's not clear whether the member of the force will choose to appear at a public hearing.
The committee chairman, John McGuinness, said he's been asked to take legal advice before deciding whether to appear next Thursday.
