Two men have died in separate road accidents in Cork and Dublin.
A 30-year-old man died following a two-car crash at Coolfadda in Bandon, Co Cork, shortly before six o'clock yesterday evening.
The man - a driver of one of the cars - was taken to Cork University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the second car, a 37 year-old woman, was also taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The road is currently closed and diversions are in place.
In Dublin, a 62-year-old man has died following a single-vehicle crash on the M50.
It happened southbound, between Junction 10 Ballymount and Junction 11 Tallaght, before 1am this morning.
The car left the road and collided with a lamp-post and protective barrier. The car then overturned before landing on its side.
The driver of the car, a 60-year-old woman, was also taken to Tallaght Hospital where her condition is described as critical.
A section of the M50 motorway was closed for a period of time to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. It has since reopened.
