Up to 1,000 pro-life campaigners have gathered outside the Dáil this evening calling on the Government not to legislate for the X case.

In 1992, the Supreme Court ruled that abortion should be allowed in Ireland in situations where the pregnant woman's life is at risk, including by suicide.
Pro-life campaigners claim that introducing such legislation would open the floodgates to abortion-on-demand.
As the protest continues, there is very heavy traffic in the area, with Kildare Street and Molesworth Street both closed.
City centre at a standstill, don't get on a bus. I'm 25mins in the one place on Kildare street.
