An 18-year-old man has been charged in connection with the investigation into a number of stabbings in Dublin City Centre on Saturday.

An 18-year-old man has been charged in connection with the investigation into a number of stabbings in Dublin City Centre on Saturday.

The first attack happened at around 7.30pm when a man in his mid-20s was stabbed in the face and side by a group on Fleet Street.

A short time later, another man in his early 30s was assaulted by two males outside a night club on Cope Street. He was stabbed in the face and abdomen.

One man was arrested last night and a further two men were arrested this morning. All of them are aged in their late teens or early 20s.

Two other men arrested in connection with the attacks remain in garda custody at Pearse St Garda Station.
