Garda whistleblower John Wilson is among three people who have been arrested at an estate in Cavan town during a water demonstration earlier today.

Garda whistleblower John Wilson is among three people who have been arrested at an estate in Cavan town during a water demonstration earlier today.

Up to 20 residents gathered at Kilnavara Crescent and formed a blockade.

It is alleged they occupied the meter work stations and refused to move.

The men, aged 21, 46, and 52, were detained during the demonstration at around 9.30am today and are being held at Cavan Garda station. Gardaí said there were no injuries.
