Cork resumed their early season form after last week's defeat in Drogheda to move up to second place in the table with this easy win over struggling Derry.

Alan Bennett punished a goalkeeping error by Alan Gough to tap in the opening goal on six minutes.

City then finished off a disappointing Derry with two goals inside a minute mid-way through the second half.

Bennett added his second on 63 minutes before John O'Flynn maintained his fine goalscoring run with the third two minutes later, his eighth goal of the season.

Derry's consolation goal came from Sean Friars on 70 minutes from a deflected free-kick.
