Garda receives Scott Medal for foiling post office raid

A garda who arrested a man after he held a bread-knife to the neck of a post office worker in Dublin has received a Bronze Scott Medal for her bravery.

A garda who arrested a man after he held a bread-knife to the neck of a post office worker in Dublin has received a Bronze Scott Medal for her bravery.

Garda Ethel O' Flynn, who's from Kilkenny, had been on patrol in Harold's Cross in Dublin in December 2009 when she came across the incident.

Once the culprit spotted the officer he fled the post office Garda O' Flynn ran after him, caught him and then arrested him.
