A 20-year-old man was arrested this afternoon in connection with the fatal shooting of Stephen Byrne in Dublin on Tuesday.

He is being held at Store Street Garda Station along with a 25-year-old man arrested last night.

Byrne, 32, was shot dead in the north inner city.

Two teenagers and another man questioned over the shooting earlier in the week have been released without charge.

Byrne was standing near his home in Sheriff Street just before 5pm last Tuesday evening when a lone gunman on a bicycle shot him several times.

Gardaí believe three young men were with the victim and scattered when the gunman approached.
