Clondalkin brothers charged with ramming car after M50 chase

Two Clondalkin brothers arrested after a dramatic late night chase along the M50 have been charged with ramming another man's car.

The first ramming allegedly happened in a hotel car park after the victim met them with a view to selling a car.

It is alleged the second ramming happened at Neilstown Road in Clondalkin.

Aaron Dunne of Grangeview Road and Christopher Dunne of Kilcronan Court were remanded in custody and are due in court again next week.

The drama began to unfold yesterday evening at a car park on the Naas road where a man arrived in his BMW to meet a potential car buyer.

He tried to leave at around 8.15pm, but his exit was blocked by two cars. His car was then rammed.

He managed to make his escape and a high-speed car chase ensued along the M50.

The victim's car was rammed for a second time on the Neilstown road and he raised the alarm after fleeing on foot with his female passenger.

Separately, the Dunne brothers appeared before Blanchardstown District Court yesterday where Christopher was charged with stealing a Ford Focus and an Audi A4 from the Red Cow Hotel on November 10, 2013.

His younger brother Aaron is accused of stealing the same Audi from the same location on the same date.

He is further charged with stealing €30 worth of confectionary from a petrol station in Clondalkin the following day.

The two men were granted bail on those charges yesterday.
