Clare Gardaí issue CCTV images of missing Japanese couple

Gardaí have issued CCTV images of a Japanese couple in efforts to locate the pair who have not been seen since Saturday.

63-year-old Eiji Takagi, who holds joint American and Japanese nationality, and 61-year-old Ushio Azaki checked out of their hotel in Spanish Point in Clare on Saturday morning.

The alarm was raised by locals who noticed that the couple - who were both due to fly out from Shannon Airport on Monday - had not returned to their rental car at Georges Head car park in Kilkee for a number of days.

The Gardaí and the Coastguard have been searching for the couple since Tuesday.

Gardaí in Kilrush are appealing for anyone with information to contact Kilrush Garda Station on 065 908 0550, the Garda Confidential Line 1 800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
