The Irish Road Haulage Association is meeting Transport Minister Seamus Brennan today to discuss his plans to ban so-called "supertrucks" from entering Dublin city centre.

The Irish Road Haulage Association is meeting Transport Minister Seamus Brennan today to discuss his plans to ban so-called "supertrucks" from entering Dublin city centre.

The trucks are too big to fit through the Dublin Port Tunnel, but under the minister's plans, they will not be exempt from a city centre truck ban once the tunnel is completed.

The IRHA has called on Mr Brennan to withdraw the ban on "supertrucks", saying it would have serious financial repercussions for both the haulage and the retail trades.
