A 27 year old Australian student has been installed as the bookies' favourite for this year's Rose of Tralee.

A 27 year old Australian student has been installed as the bookies' favourite for this year's Rose of Tralee.

Tara Talbot, representing Queensland, is just 5/2 with bookmaker Paddy Power to become the 53rd festival Rose.

Talbot's father hails from Dublin, while her mother comes from the Philippines.

The leading home-grown Rose is Mary Kehoe from Wexford, at odds of 6 to 1.
