UK-based Kerry cousin 'hopes he wins'

John Kerry’s cousin was tonight keeping a close eye on the progress of the election – from his home in a village near Ipswich, Suffolk in England.

John Kerry’s cousin was tonight keeping a close eye on the progress of the election – from his home in a village near Ipswich, Suffolk in England.

Kevin Armstrong, a geography teacher in his mid 50s, has no special celebrations planned but his keeping his fingers crossed for the Democratic challenger.

“I’ll just be going about my normal business but I hope he wins,” said Mr Armstrong, one of a number of members of the extended Kerry family living in Europe.

“I haven’t spoken to him but I’ve sent him a good luck message through an intermediary.”
