Leinster scrum half Eoin Reddan has emerged as an injury concern for Ireland ahead of this weekend's Six Nations opener against Scotland.
Reddan is suffering from a calf strain he picked up in yesterday's training session at their team base at Carton House, Maynooth.
Although he hasn't been completely ruled out, he will have a tough time trying to prove his fitness before Friday's team announcement.
Commenting today, team manager Mick Kearney said that Isaac Boss had been called into the squad as injury cover, in case Reddan doesn't make it.
"Eoin pulled up yesterday with a bit of a calf strain so it looks like he will be un available for selection this weekend," Kearney said.
Also commenting on this news, Munster scrum half Conor Murray says he knows the pressure is not off his shoulders.
Murray said, "I still see the game the same way, Bossy (Isaac Boss) is there now and Kieran Marmion is knocking about as well."
"To be honest I am just trying to focus on my own game and make sure I'm as sharp as I can possibly be and fingers crossed I get the nod at the end of the day," he added
