Gavin: Brogan likely to feature in Championship

Dublin Senior Football manager Jim Gavin says that Alan Brogan is likely to be fit for the Championship.

Gavin was responding to comments earlier this week by defender Ger Brennan that Brogan was likely to miss Dublin's Championship campaign, following another injury set back.

However, Gavin expects the three-time All-Star to be back in the frame this Summer, despite his progress being slower than expected.

"We reviewed Alan's training timeline and his timeline to return to the field of play to perform in a competitive game and we reset that a few weeks ago," Gavin said today.

"We thought that Alan might have made the Allianz League, but it didn't work out that way. It's now gone back to the Championship and I certainly do expect to see Alan somewhere in the Leinster Championship."

On other injury concerns, Gavin welcomed back Rory O'Carroll to action in last weekend's challenge victory over Galway, following the Kilmacud Crokes defender's ankle operation.

Gavin says Ciarán Kilkenny, Eoghan O'Gara and Cormac Costello are also making good progress.

"Ciaran and Eoghan are back on the field. Cormac Costello is back also. It has all been positive."
