The Irish registered Meritus Racing team, based in Daventry, has formed a working relationship with the former double winning British Formula 3 Championship team, Manor Motorsport of Sheffield.
Both teams are currently racing in the British F3 Championship - Manor in the Championship Class and Meritus in the Scholarship Class. Both teams have Irish drivers in their current line-up.
Derek Hayes, from Dungannon in Northern Ireland, a race winner in the F3 series, is presently third in the Championship Class while Clonakilty's, Michael Keohane has already clinched third in the Scholarship series.
Keohane, has won four times this season and like Hayes, will be keen to end the season with podium finishes on next week's final double header at Silverstone.
The Manor/Meritus association will see both teams benefit from close technical and commercial ties, which will provide young drivers with an opportunity to develop from Scholarship to Championship class racing in a seamless environment.
Meritus Racing, headed by Wexford's, Sean Thompson and Brazilian, Robert Costa, will campaign the ex-Manor Motorsport championship winning Dallara Mugen Honda engined cars in the Scholarship Class from 2002.
Meanwhile, Irish drivers, Keith Dempsey and Matthew Griffin contest the penultimate round of the British Formula Renault Championship at Donington Park tomorrow.
Their qualifying session takes place this afternoon.
