Tottenham defender, Stephen Carr, also returns while Manchester City winger, Mark Kennedy, is included for the first time since he was sent home along with Phil Babb from the squad for the opening World Cup qualifier against Holland in Amsterdam.

Nicky Colgan, Curtis Fleming, Graham Kavanagh, Gareth Farrelly and Keith O'Neill, who were on standby for the games against Cyprus and Andorra are also included in Mick McCarthy's 30-man squad in case of withdrawals.

However, Tranmere's Alan Mahon misses out.

Under-21 skipper, Barry Quinn, is named in the senior squad for the first time since the Nike Cup tournament last summer.

All four players on yellow cards have also been named, Roy Keane, Robbie Keane, Jason McAteer and Kenny Cunningham.
