A man was killed after fire swept through his house in Co Antrim today.

The man, 20, was rescued by an ambulance crew from the blaze at Bendooragh, near Ballymoney but died later.

Two women – believed to be his mother and sister – and two young children escaped from the house on Drumvale Avenue uninjured but badly shaken.

Police said the cause of the fire, which started just before 7.30am, has still to be determined by further forensic examination.

However, investigators are not treating it as suspicious.
