A court has heard a former garda leaked information from the Pulse computer system out of misguided loyalty to his partner who worked in retail security.
Daniel Tarrant of Doon, Kiskeam, Mallow, Co Cork is now getting jobseekers allowance and volunteering at a radio station.
The 51-year-old admits leaking Pulse data in 2008 and 2009.

A confidential tip off led to the 51-year-old being caught leaking information about vehicles and individuals from the garda pulse system to his partner who worked in retail security.
His lawyers say he was motivated by a misguided loyalty to her business wellbeing.
He faces a fine of up to €100,000 but his pension entitlements will not kick in until he’s 60.
He is also guilty of possessing an unregistered shotgun described in court as a family heirloom
Judge Mary Ellen Ring is considering community service and will finalise his sentence next month.
