Irish student fire victim to be laid to rest

The funeral is taking place today of one of the Irish students who died in a house fire in France last weekend.

The funeral is taking place today of one of the Irish students who died in a house fire in France last weekend.

21-year-old Patricia McDonald from Coothill, Co Cavan, lost her life when a blaze broke out at the house she was renting in Lorient.

Her friend, 21-year-old Carol Nolan from Walkinstown in Dublin, was also killed in the fire.

Ms Nolan's funeral is expected to take place next week.
