Gardaí investigating the death of Yvonne O'Shea - whose body was recovered from the Grand Canal - have carried out a number of searches at houses in Dublin and Kildare.

The mother-of-four's body was taken from the canal at Vicarstown in County Laois last month.

Originally it was thought that she had drowned, however it is now understood that a number of other avenues are being explored by gardaí.

The Dublin woman had been out for a drive with her four children and a man when it's understood their car got into difficulty and they pulled in by the canal.

Some time later her body was recovered from the water.

Gardaí have said a thorough investigation is being carried out, but so far no arrests have been made.
