Bolton boss Gary Megson had Gary Speed back in his starting XI for the Barclays Premier League clash against West Ham at Upton Park.
Speed had been on the bench for the last two matches but was given his first start under Megson, who had blocked a loan move to Sheffield United for the veteran midfielder earlier in the week.
He also brought back the experience of Ivan Campo and Kevin Davies from the side which lost to Manchester City in the Carling Cup.
West Ham had Robert Green back in goal after he was rested for the midweek win over Coventry.
Anton Ferdinand and Mark Noble added their names to the huge list of injuries for manager Alan Curbishley. Danny Gabbidon and Nolberto Solano were brought in.
West Ham: Green, Neill, Gabbidon, Upson, McCartney, Boa Morte, Solano, Mullins, Bowyer, Etherington, Cole. Subs: Wright, Pantsil, Spector, Reid, Camara.
Bolton: Jaaskelainen, Hunt, Andrew O’Brien, Meite, Gardner, Diouf, Guthrie, Nolan, Campo, Speed, Davies. Subs: Al Habsi, Samuel, Giannakopoulos, McCann, Michalik.
