A six-year-old girl is recovering in hospital today after a savage rottweiler attack.
Sophia Kimpton was attacked on the doorstep of her holiday home on Tuesday. She suffered horrific injuries to her head, arms and back and needed plastic surgery.
The two dogs were shot dead by the farmer whose land they were on.
The victim was set upon in Ballymoney, Co Antrim, while on holiday from London.
Her mother, Natasha Beckett, said her daughter would have been killed if the attack had lasted any longer.
The little girl will be left with scarring on her scalp.
She was staying with her family at a holiday chalet near Dervock, outside Ballymoney.
Sophia’s father, Lawrence, attempted to kick the animals off before the farmer who owned the dogs shot them.
The girl suffered 17 injuries to her head, arms and back during the incident at Conagher self-catering chalets, on a working farm.
The family had only arrived on Saturday and Mrs Beckett said she had expressed concerns to the farmer before.
