It is a season that welcomes the perfect balance of minimalism and maximalism and exciting newness across a diverse mix of trends such as Tough Love, So Bourgeois, La Vie En Rose, Purist, Out of Office and New Femininity.

Autumn Winter 2019 is a season filled with diversity and newness across all trends. It’s an exciting season for its new play on maximalism and minimalism.

Designers celebrate femininity and showcase bright pops of colour, fresh updates to tailoring and a nod to the 1970s,” comments Brown Thomas Fashion Director, Shelly Corkery.

PURIST

The Purist trend welcomes a mix of feminine and masculine elements that combine perfectly to create an easy-to-wear silhouette, defined by an appreciation for simplicity and multifunctional appeal.

Paired back silhouettes in minimal earthy tones of beige, cream and black are present across the collections.

LA VIE EN ROSE

From romantic florals to placement prints, garden blooms make a strong appearance this season across all the collections in the trend ‘La Vie En Rose’.

The rose is the go-to floral for many designers and adds a refreshing update to previous season’s microscopic blooms.

NEW FEMININITY

Pretty detailing such as delicate bows, shirring and artful draping, gives dresses a contemporary twist.

Add asymmetric hemlines and handkerchief cuts to continue the multi-layer look.

Luxurious silks and satins are the designer’s choice for this trend, while sheer organza tunics add for beautiful layering options and long and loose relaxed shapes are noted across all brands.
