Kerry toddler dies from head injuries

A three-year-old child has died in Kerry General Hospital after suffering severe head injuries at a house in the county on Wednesday morning.

A three-year-old child has died in Kerry General Hospital after suffering severe head injuries at a house in the county on Wednesday morning.

The Health Service Executive has confirmed that the toddler passed away earlier this afternoon.

Gardaí were called to the house in Killeen Woods in Tralee in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

They carried out a technical examination of the scene and a full garda investigation was launched.

The toddler passed away at Kerry General Hospital today, after being on a life support machine for the past number of days.

State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy will carry out a post mortem and gardaí say their investigations are continuing.
