The air service between London and Holland is Europe’s busiest international route, latest figures show.
There are 350 weekly departures between Heathrow Airport in west London and Amsterdam, statistics from airline information company OAG revealed.
Including flights within countries, Heathrow-Amsterdam is the eighth busiest European route, with Barcelona-Madrid in Spain topping the worldwide list, with 971 weekly departures.
Other busy routes include Sao Paulo-Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, Melbourne-Sydney in Australia and San Diego-Los Angeles in California.
For routes linking two different countries, the busiest is Bahrain-Dubai, with 184 flights a week. The busiest Middle East route is the Saudi Arabia service between Jeddah and Riyadh (324 weekly flights).
Busiest African route is Cape Town-Johannesburg (831 weekly flights) followed by Durban-Johannesburg (588).
