Irish rock band U2 has picked up a nomination for the Record of the Year in the Grammys.

‘A Beautiful Day’, the first single from the Dubliners’ new album was among the list of nominations for the accolade.

The big story however has been the nomination of controversial rapper Eminem, for four awards, including Album of the Year.

He has caused outrage by condemning homosexuals and depicting the killing of his wife and the rape of his mother in his lyrics.
