Drogheda United 3 Shamrock Rovers 2
Drogheda maintained their progress in the top flight to inflict a fourth defeat in five league games on troubled Rovers.
Left-back Brian Kelly was the Drogheda hero with a brace of goal, the first with a long range shot after just three minutes.
He added a second from a spectacular free-kick nine minutes into the second half.
Rovers rallied and scored twice inside three minutes to level.
Richie Byrne struck their first on 58 minutes with Noel Hunt adding the equaliser.
But Drogheda's home form has been good and they made it three wins out of four at O2 Park when Andy Myler slid in to shoot home Gary Cronin's cross 12 minutes from time.
Rovers' sad night ended with the dismissal of midfielder Marc Kenny on 88 minutes.
