Stephane Henchoz’s agent today confirmed the Swiss defender has joined the list of players leaving Celtic.
The 30-year-old attempted to resurrect his stalling career in January when he joined the Hoops from Liverpool.
The former Blackburn man signed initially until the summer with a view to extending that but he endured a miserable spell under Martin O’Neill, making just two starts.
The arrival of new manager Gordon Strachan could have brought him a fresh start but the Scot was unable to give him any assurances of more first-team football.
Agent Jorg Vonmatt said: “Celtic have not been in touch so he will be leaving for sure. Things haven’t worked out for him for one reason or another and so he will definitely be leaving Scotland.
“Stephane has some offers from other clubs but where they are I cannot reveal too much at this moment.”
Henchoz has joined Robert Douglas, Paul Lambert and Momo Sylla in leaving Celtic Park and they could be joined by others as Strachan stamps his own authority.
The club are still in talks with the agents of Jackie McNamara and Neil Lennon while they hope to keep the likes of Craig Bellamy, Bobo Balde and Stilian Petrov.
