Gains for ISEQ

The value of Irish shares swelled this morning as the ISEQ index was up 108.85 points to 6509.37.

The value of Irish shares swelled this morning as the ISEQ index was up 108.85 points to 6509.37.

All the financial heavyweights soared with AIB leading the way and coming out with the biggest gain in the morning trading, up 63c to €14.35. Irish Life and Permanent gained 37c to €10.45 and Anglo Irish Bank followed the positive trend, up 35c to €9.06. Bank of Ireland climbed 24c to €9.52.

Elsewhere, within the food sector there were some negative performances with Glanbia down 8c to €4.79. Fyffes and IAWS both fell 4c to 86c and €12.10 respectively. Kerry Group, however bucked the negative trend gaining 34c to €19.75.
