Corrie stars welcome Marsh back to the street

Kym Marsh has returned to 'Coronation Street' five months after giving birth to her daughter Polly.

Kym Marsh has returned to 'Coronation Street' five months after giving birth to her daughter Polly.

The actress' character Michelle Connor was written out of the ITV1 soap at short notice when she suffered complications during her pregnancy and was forced to go on modified bed rest but bosses confirmed her return yesterday and revealed she will appear back on screens in November.

A spokesman said: "We are delighted to welcome Kym back."

Michelle - whose baby son Archie with fiance Jamie Lomas tragically died in February 2009 after being born 18 weeks early – will be at the centre of a huge storyline on her return as her character is set to wed Ciaran McCarthy, played by Boyzone star Keith Duffy.

The couple will return to the show from their cruise to announce they are engaged.

A source said: "Michelle and Ciaran are two of the most popular characters. They will return from their cruise and tell the street they are planning a huge wedding.

"But this is Corrie and the course of true love never runs smooth, so anything could happen before they say 'I do'."

Kym, 34, also has two children, son David, 15, and daughter Emily, 13, from a previous relationship.
