Hollywood star Tom Cruise and new fiancee Katie Holmes will be on the red carpet in London tonight for the premiere of his latest film War of the Worlds.
The couple announced their engagement in Paris on Friday.
Cruise, 42, proposed to his 26-year-old girlfriend on top of the Eiffel Tower and presented her with a huge diamond ring.
“Today is a magnificent day for me, I’m engaged to a magnificent woman,” he said.
Asked why he chose the famed Paris landmark, he said: “I’ve never been to the Eiffel Tower. It’s Paris, it’s a beautiful city, it’s very romantic.”
Former Dawson’s Creek star Holmes had her own premiere in Leicester Square last Sunday for Batman Begins.
War of the Worlds is loosely based on the science fiction novel by HG Wells and is directed by Steven Spielberg.
Cruise plays a divorced dad who must save his kids when Aliens come to destroy Earth.
Spielberg has wanted to remake the story since buying a script of the famous Orson Welles radio play 12 years ago.
Welles made the radio broadcast in 1938 and it proved so believable that panicked listeners believed the world really was under attack.
The film opens nationwide on June 29.
