Authorities lift tsunami warning for Gulf

A tsunami warning issued for El Salvador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama, and Mexico has been lifted, after a powerful earthquake struck off El Salvador's Pacific coast overnight.

A tsunami warning issued for El Salvador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama, and Mexico has been lifted, after a powerful earthquake struck off El Salvador's Pacific coast overnight.

The earthquake was located 86 miles south-south west of San Miguel, the US Geological Survey reported on its website and at a depth of 32.9 miles.

No injuries have been reported after the 7.4 magnitude tremor.
