Rod Stewart's daughter Kimberly adores her rock dad's fiancee Penny Lancaster - seeing her as a mother figure as well as a best friend.

The 25-year-old model was initially concerned the leggy blonde had ulterior motives, but she admits his latest love has proved herself to be the perfect woman for the Maggie May rocker.

Kimberly explains: "In the beginning, I was wary. There was always questions in the back of your head. Is she for real? Is she going to be around for a long time?

"After about six months to a year, I knew that dad was going to spend the rest of his life with Penny.

"She's like a sister, a mum and a best friend. She brings out the best in my dad and really makes him a better man."
