Fine Gael leader Michael Noonan has been given a considerable boost by two new constituency opinion polls.
New surveys show that Fine Gael is set to hold its seats in Laois-Offaly and gain one new TD in Limerick East.
The poll in Laois-Offaly shows former IFA leader Tom Parlon taking a seat for the PDs, but at the expense of Fianna Fáil, rather than of Fine Gael.
According to the Irish Independent/IMS poll, FG's Charlie Flanagan and Olwyn Enright will retain their positions, while Foreign Affairs Minister Brian Cowen and Sean Fleming take two for FF.
Sitting TD Sean Fleming is predicted to lose out.
In Limerick East, both FF and FG gain a seat, where a massive vote of 42% for Minister Willie O'Dea is expected to bring in Peter Power and Eddie Wade for Fianna Fáil.
A transfer of votes by Fine Gael shows Michael Noonan being joined in the Dáil by running mate Senator Mary Jackman, at the expense of Labour's Jan O'Sullivan.
