Waterford United player-manager Alan Reynolds is one of nine premier division players suspended for the final game of the season later this month, it was announced on Thursday.
Reynolds, who it was revealed yesterday had been handed a two-match ban following his dismissal against Cork City on October 15, was suspended for a further two competitive matches last night as a result of reaching 12 penalty points.
He had already served one match of his initial ban while the second will be the trip to Shelbourne on November 12.
The additional sanction handed down by the eircom League’s disciplinary commission at their meeting last night takes effect from Wednesday, November 17, and means Reynolds will be unavailable for the last match of the campaign at home to Derry City the following weekend.
Reynolds will also have two other members of his squad unavailable for the encounter as Wayne Fitzgerald and Pat Purcell are also banned, both for reaching four penalty points.
Other absentees on the last day of term will be Dave Rogers of Shelbourne, Cork City’s George O'Callaghan, Dominic Foley of Bohemians, Longford Town’s Dessie Baker, Paul Crowley of Dublin City and Stephen Gough of Shamrock Rovers.
O'Callaghan and Crowley reached eight penalty points, the others four.
