Nurses to hold further stoppages as dispute rumbles on

Nurses are due to embark on another day of work stoppages at four hospitals around the country today as part of their long-running campaign for more pay and a shorter working week.

Nurses are due to embark on another day of work stoppages at four hospitals around the country today as part of their long-running campaign for more pay and a shorter working week.

Members of the INO and PNA will walk off the wards for three hours in Sligo, Kildare and Dublin.

In addition to this, they are also refusing to work overtime or to stay late after their shifts, as they frequently do on a goodwill basis.

The escalation in the industrial action follows the HSE's threat to cut their wages if they do not abandon their campaign.
