Padraig Harrington has taken over sole leadership of the Dunhill Links Championship.

On the Kingsbarns course, Harrington shot a 6 under par 66 to rise him to 12 under par, one clear of Eduardo Romero.

Mikael Lungberg of Sweden lies third on 10 under following a 67 at Carnoustie.

Darren Clarke lies on level par, with Graeme McDowell and Paul McGinley 1 over, Philip Walton 11 over and Des Smyth 13 over.
