Major sponsorship deal for Mayo championships

The Mayo Senior, Intermediate and Junior Club Football Championships have new sponsors for 2007, it has been confirmed.

Mayo County Board has announced that the Castlebar-based TF Royal Hotel and Theatre has been chosen to sponsor the county's football club championships in a major new three-year deal.

Pat Jennings, owner of the TF Royal Hotel and Theatre, said: "It is evident now, more than ever, that there are new dynamics at work in Mayo football, and we are proud to play our part in the sponsorship of the Mayo GAA championships."

Ulster Bank have also come on board as sponsors of the Mayo U21 Club Football Championship.

The Mayo senior footballers, under the baton of new manager John O'Mahony, will be back in action on Wednesday, January 17, when they face Sligo IT in their opening game of the Connacht FBD League, under the floodlights in Ballinode (throw-in 7.30pm).

O'Mahony's men have a date with Roscommon four days later in Ballyhaunis (2pm) before they wrap up their Section A campaign against NUI Galway in Ballinrobe on Wednesday, January 24 (7.30pm).
