500 attend funeral of brothers killed in Offaly crash

As many as 500 mourners have attended a funeral mass in Dublin for three brothers who were killed in a car crash in Offaly last Friday evening.

Darren, David and Ryan Doyle lost their lives when the Honda Civic they were travelling in with a friend collided with a minibus outside Tullamore.

Hundreds of mourners packed into the Sacred Heart Church in Killinarden, Tallaght to say farewell Darren, David and Ryan Doyle who were killed in last Friday's car crash.

The three brothers aged 27, 24 and 17 were living in Na Cluainte in Portarlington but their remains were brought back to their home town of Tallaght for today's mass celebrated by Fr Manus Ferry.

The fourth victim of the crash was the driver of the Honda Civic, 24-year-old Lee Bryan, who will be buried in Portarlington following a service tomorrow.

Prior to the collision, the four young men had been watching John Joe Nevin's Olympic fight.

Jason Doyle, the eldest in the family, paid tribute to his three youngest brothers – Lee just 17 – should have been getting his Leaving Cert results today

Following mass, the family continued on to Newland's Cross crematorium.
