Tottenham manager Juande Ramos may rest striker Roman Pavlyuchenko for the Carling Cup third-round match at Newcastle tomorrow.
The cup holders are still seeking their first domestic victory of the season and Ramos has already used 21 players in five games.
Midfielder Luka Modric is still struggling with a knee problem but has not been ruled out of the St James’ Park clash.
Right-back Alan Hutton (foot) is a certain absentee but centre-backs Michael Dawson and Ledley King, who were both left out of the squad for the draw with Wigan on Sunday, could feature, along with on-loan Manchester United striker Fraizer Campbell.
Provisional squad: Gomes, Bale, Gunter, Zokora, Bentley, Jenas, Woodgate, King, Dawson, Corluka, O’Hara, Lennon, Assou-Ekotto, Huddlestone, Campbell, Bent, Gilberto, Giovani, Pavlyuchenko, Modric, Cesar Sanchez.
