British airline sets up no-frills operation

BMI British Midland has announced plans to establish budget operations in Britain in competition against Ryanair, Go! and EasyJet.

BMI British Midland has announced plans to establish budget operations in Britain in competition against Ryanair, Go! and EasyJet.

BMI British Midland plans to fly routes from Britain’s East Midlands Airport to destinations in Spain, Portugal and France by March 23rd. Several airlines operate flights between Dublin and East Midlands Airport.

The new "no-frills" airline will have a separate name from BMI British Midland and will serve Barcelona, Nice, Palma, Malaga, Faro and Alicante, among other destinations.

Prices will start at £25 for a one-way ticket.
