The Gulfstream jet which crashed in Aspen, Colorado, was owned by Hollywood producer Andrew Vajna.

All 18 people on board were killed when the plane crashed in snowy conditions close to the ski resort at 7 o'clock local time on Thursday.

It's reported that Mr Vajna, whose credits include Evita, Die Hard With A Vengeance and Total Recall, was not on board.

The Gulfstream III jet is often used by celebrities, although it's believed none were on the flight from Burbank in California.

The plane was owned by a charter company which is itself the property of Mr Vajna's production company, Cinergi Pictures.Hungarian-born Mr Vajna, 56, also produced the Rambo trilogy and is currently producing Terminator 3 and Basic Instinct 2.

A spokesman for the Avjet Corporation, which operates the aircraft, said: "We are not releasing details of the passenger list until we have contacted all the relatives.

We can, however, confirm that there were no so-called Hollywood celebrities on the flight."

CNN are reporting at least two of the victims worked for Los Angeles TV station KTTV.

The pilot was attempting an instrument landing at the ski resort when the plane plummeted to the ground, just short of the runway at Aspen-Pitkin county airport.

The plane reportedly broke into three main pieces and flaming wreckage was scattered over a 100-yard radius. All 18 bodies were recovered from the wreckage.
