Andrews replaces O’Carroll in Dublin team

Dublin have made one team change for their upcoming Leinster final clash with Kildare.

Dublin manager Pat Gilroy has made one change to his team for Sunday's Leinster SFC final against Kildare at Croke Park (throw-in 2pm).

Rory O'Carroll, the 19-year-old defender from Kilmacud Crokes, has left the panel owing to pre-arranged plans to travel to South East Asia, to be replaced by Paddy Andrews.

Gilroy confirmed at a press conference today that O'Carroll's travel plans will put him out of the reckoning for the Dubs for the rest of the Championship.

Andrews, who was used in the half-forward line against Meath, will take over from O'Carroll this weekend at left corner back.

Unsurprisingly, the Dublin management has kept faith with the attacking unit that inspired the Metropolitans to a 4-26 to 0-11 semi-final demolition of Westmeath.

Bernard Brogan has been the Dubs' top scorer in their two Championship games to date, with 2-10 (0-6f).

The experienced trio of Conal Keaney (0-8, 0-6f), Alan Brogan (0-7) and Jason Sherlock (0-6) have also been regular scorers.

Dublin are bidding to win the Leinster title for a fifth successive year, something they last achieved in 1978.

DUBLIN (SFC v Kildare) - S Cluxton; D Henry, D Bastick, P Andrews; P Griffin (capt), G Brennan, B Cahill; R McConnell, D Magee; P Flynn, A Brogan, D Connolly; C Keaney, B Brogan, J Sherlock.
