Typhoon Imbudo killed at least 20 people in southern China when it hit the coast this week, official media reported today.
The typhoon hit China on Thursday after killing at least 10 people and forcing the evacuation of thousands from their homes in the Philippines.
It smashed thousands of homes in Guangdong province and the neighbouring Guangxi region, before petering out yesterday.
Casualty reports were slow to trickle in as officials assessed the damage.
By Saturday, 12 people were confirmed dead in Guangxi, the official Xinhua News Agency reported.
In Guangdong, eight people were confirmed dead and three fishermen were missing, the China Daily reported.
